Movement is an Added Benefit!

09.05.18
posted by a Walking Classroom Adopter

The Walking Classroom allows for differentiation and being able to reach all students’ learning styles. The podcasts are very easy to integrate into our curriculum. They allow me to extend the information with additional deeper and broader projects. And the movement? An added benefit!

Humans in general need to be moving and oxygenating our brains to be effective in all situations. These days, kids spend many hours on electronic devices and less time on physical activity! When my students walk, they are smiling, cooperative, and actively listening to podcasts! As a result, they are more attentive for longer periods of time after the walk. Attitudes also improve with the increased activity!

I absolutely am a firm believer in movement. This program has changed my entire planning as a seasoned educator. When my students ask to take a walk instead of having extra recess like other classes, it is a true testament to this program. My students’ parents even join us for walks; it’s a great way to get families involved! Thank you!
