We (“us”, or “our”) operate this website, the mobile application platform and the associated mobile applications (collectively referred to as the “Service”).
This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.
We use your data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions.

Definitions

When you access the Service by or through a mobile device, this Usage Data may include information such as the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browser you use, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.
Location Data
We may use and store information about your location if you give us permission to do so (“Location Data”). We use this data to provide features of our Service, to improve and customize our Service.
You can enable or disable location services when you use our Service at any time, through your device settings.
Tracking Cookies Data
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our Service and hold certain information.

Our company will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and no transfer of your Personal Data will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of your data and other personal information.

Business Transaction
If our company is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, your Personal Data may be transferred. We will provide notice before your Personal Data is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.

“Do Not Track” Signals
We do not support Do Not Track (“DNT”). Do Not Track is a preference you can set in your web browser to inform websites that you do not want to be tracked.
You can enable or disable Do Not Track by visiting the Preferences or Settings page of your web browser.
Your Rights
Our company aims to take reasonable steps to allow you to correct, amend, delete, or limit the use of your Personal Data.
Whenever made possible, you can update your Personal Data directly within your account settings section. If you are unable to change your Personal Data, please contact us to make the required changes.
If you wish to be informed what Personal Data we hold about you and if you want it to be removed from our systems, please contact us.
In certain circumstances, you have the right:

- To rectify any Personal Data held about you that is inaccurate
- To request the deletion of Personal Data held about you
You have the right to data portability for the information you provide to our company. You can request to obtain a copy of your Personal Data in a commonly used electronic format so that you can manage and move it.
Please note that we may ask you to verify your identity before responding to such requests.
Service Providers
We may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service (“Service Providers”), to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.
These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
Analytics
We may use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Service.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.
You can opt-out of having made your activity on the Service available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about visits activity.

Google Ads
While The Walking Classroom Mobile Application (the “App”) does not (and will not) display any ads during use, we do use Google Ads provided by Google Inc. for search engine marketing for our website.
You can opt out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and customize the Google Display Network ads by visiting the Google Ads Settings page: https://www.google.com/settings/ads
Google also recommends installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on – https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout – for your web browser. Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on provides visitors with the ability to prevent their data from being collected and used by Google Analytics.

Payments
We may provide paid products and/or services within the Service. In that case, we use third-party services for payment processing (e.g., payment processors).
We will not store or collect your payment card details. That information is provided directly to our third-party payment processors whose use of your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy. These payment processors adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of payment information.

We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. The App does not contain links to sites that are not operated by us.
We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third-party sites or services.
Privacy Policy for Children Under the Age of 13
The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 and its rules (collectively, “COPPA”) require us to inform parents and legal guardians (as used in this policy, “parents“) about our practices for collecting, using, and disclosing personal information from children under the age of 13 (“children“). Terms that are defined in our general privacy policy have the same meanings as used in this section regarding our Privacy Policy for Children Under the Age of 13.
This policy notifies parents of:
- The types of information we may collect from children.
- How we use the information we collect.
- Our practices for disclosing that information.
- How a parent may revoke consent.
This policy only applies to children under the age of 13 and supplements the other provisions of this privacy policy. Only the other provisions of this privacy policy apply to teens and adults.
Information We Collect from Children
Children can access many parts of the App and its content and use many of its features without providing us with personal information. However, some content and features are available only to registered users. In addition, we use certain technologies, such as cookies, to automatically collect information from our users (including children) when they use the App.
We only collect as much information about a child as is reasonably necessary for the child to participate in an activity, and we do not condition his or her participation on the disclosure of more personal information than is reasonably necessary.
- Information We Collect Directly: A parent, child, or school must provide us with the following information to register with this website: a name (only first name/last initial for children), email address, and a password.
- Automatic Information Collection and Tracking: We use technology to automatically collect information from our users, including children, when they access and navigate through the App and use certain of its features. The information we collect through these technologies may include one or more persistent identifiers that can be used to recognize a user over time and across different websites and online services.
We may also combine non-personal information we collect through these technologies with personal information about you or your child that we collect online.

How We Use Your Child’s Information
We use the personal information we collect from your child to:
- register him or her to use the App;
- allow him or her to use the full App in the event we have donated the App to an individual or organization
We use the information we collect automatically through technology (see “Information Collection and Use”) and other non-personal information we collect to improve our App and to deliver a better experience by enabling us to estimate our audience size and usage patterns.
Our Practices for Disclosing Children’s Information
We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer children’s personal information other than as described in this section.
We may disclose aggregated information about many of our users and information that does not identify any individual or device. In addition, we may disclose children’s personal information:
- To third parties we use to support the internal operations of our App and who are bound by contractual or other obligations to use the information only for such purpose and to keep the information confidential.
- If we are required to do so by law or legal process, such as to comply with any court order or subpoena or to respond to any government or regulatory request.
- If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of The Walking Classroom Institute, our customers or others, including to:
- protect the safety of a child;
- protect the safety and security of the App; or
- enable us to take precautions against liability.
- To law enforcement agencies or for an investigation related to public safety.
Accessing and Correcting Your Child’s Personal Information
At any time, you may review the child’s personal information maintained by us, require us to correct or delete the personal information, and/or refuse to permit us from further collecting or using the child’s information.
You can review, change, or delete your child’s personal information by sending us an email at info@TheWalkingClassroom.org. To protect your privacy and security, we may require you to take certain steps or provide additional information to verify your identity before we provide any information or make corrections.
Operators That Collect or Maintain Information from Children

FERPA
We may receive information from or on behalf of institutions that are subject to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”). With respect to such information (“FERPA Records”), we will: (1) hold the FERPA Records in strict confidence and will not use or disclose them except as (a) permitted or required by this Privacy Policy, (b) required by law, or (c) otherwise authorized by the applicable institution in writing; (2) safeguard the FERPA Records according to commercially reasonable administrative, physical and technical standards that are no less rigorous than the standards by which we protect our own confidential information; and (3) continually monitor our operations and take any action necessary to assure that the FERPA Records are safeguarded in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy. At the request of applicable institution, we will provide the institution with a written summary of the procedures we use to safeguard the FERPA Records.
CIPA
Schools and libraries that are subject to the Children’s Internet Protection Act (“CIPA”) are required to adopt and implement an internet safety policy addressing:
- Access by minors to inappropriate matter on the Internet;
- Please note that the App contains no content inappropriate for minors
- The safety and security of minors when using electronic mail, chat rooms and other forms of direct electronic communications.
- Please note that the App has no communication functionality other than in-app notices (only from us) which can be turned off
- Unauthorized access, including so-called “hacking,” and other unlawful activities by minors online.
- Unauthorized disclosure, use, and dissemination of personal information regarding minors.
- Please note that the App only collects student email and first name/last initial, which is used for accessing the App. This data will never be shared with or sold to third parties.
- Measures restricting minors’ access to materials harmful to them.
- Please note that the App has no links to external websites
California Privacy Rights
We share no personal information with third parties for direct marketing purposes. No personal information is publicly displayed in this App, and the App has no mechanism to display user posts.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
We will let you know via email and/or a prominent notice on our Service, prior to the change becoming effective and update the “effective date” at the top of this Privacy Policy.
You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
