TWC Loved by Students, Staff, and Parents

posted by a Walking Classroom Adopter

Here at Yucca Mesa Elementary, The Walking Classroom is loved by students, staff, and parents alike. Being able to get outdoors and learn while exploring the elements beyond the classroom has been wonderful for our students. Many grade levels have furthered their development and overall learning experience.

In our small desert community, being gifted the ability to take disadvantaged students to other worlds through podcasts has been amazing. Our students look forward to using the program. Not only do they get outdoors; they simultaneously build their literacy and cognitive skills.

Students in fourth, fifth, and sixth grade use The Walking Classroom weekly to explore our surrounding area. They enjoy taking a break from the classroom setting, learning academic content and life lessons. Encouraging healthy lifestyle habits throughout the changing pandemic world is something necessary in our schools.

Listening, moving and living despite the challenges of COVID has been made more fun with the use of The Walking Classroom. Enrichment activities like this help make education as beneficial as possible while also keeping things exciting.

The Walking Classroom helps to keep our students engaged. The program gives our kids something to look forward to that they otherwise could not access. We have much gratitude for this awesome teaching tool and what we have conveyed by using it!
