Students Find Learning an Adventure!

08.05.20
posted by a Walking Classroom Adopter

With The Walking Classroom, my students are finding that learning can be an adventure! I choose podcasts that relate to the content we are learning in the classroom, but sometimes I surprise them. I select a topic that I know they’d enjoy, so they find that learning can be fun and satisfying.

To extend thinking and to take it to a deeper level, I have students engage in writing after listening to a podcast. For instance, we listened to a podcast about Benjamin Franklin (4-#47, Complete-#69). Afterward, I had my students list four facts that they learned and create two questions that they would ask Benjamin Franklin.

While the quizzes that come with the program are sound, and I do use them, I like to challenge my students further. Their responses make it clear that they are learning from The Walking Classroom podcasts!

The Walking Classroom enables me to guide students toward greater learning, not only about content area topics, but about themselves. This experience has enriched their lives and mine!
