Remembering Thomas Edison with a Podcast

01.25.23
posted by a Walking Classroom Adopter

As part of the third-grade team at Ava Elementary School, our curriculum is loaded with great reading stories. One of them is titled, “Young Thomas Edison.” Naturally this led to listening to a Walking Classroom podcast on Thomas Edison (5-#16, STEM-#9, Complete-#162).

The students were fascinated to learn about Thomas Edison as an adult, as our story had only covered his youth. They couldn’t believe all the discoveries that led to the many inventions they enjoy today. Connecting the phonograph to the telephone to cell phones was enlightening. They were very appreciative of Thomas Edison’s contribution.

My students and I can’t wait to dive into our next podcast to listen and learn something new. Thank you, The Walking Classroom!
