Podcast Pilot Stimulates Student Interest!

12.30.20
posted by a Walking Classroom Adopter

My class got to “pilot” The Walking Classroom at my school, and I truly saw the value of the program. Not only were the podcasts a way to differentiate for students, but also a way to expose students to a wider variety of information that I may not otherwise have thought or known to use with them.

While all podcasts were not content specific to my grade level, they were of great interest to my students. I often allowed students to just listen to a podcast of their choice with no expectations of having to discuss or take a quiz on it. This was great because it freed some of my lower student from the worry of test stress. If they wanted to take the quiz for extra credit I would allow that. I found that this encouraged them to want to listen and learn new things, or learn more about something in which they were personally interested!
