Middle School Students Benefit from TWC

10.16.19
posted by a Walking Classroom Adopter

We LOVE The Walking Classroom! Over 400 students in our middle school have benefitted from using this program (and that’s only half so far!).

The social studies podcasts have allowed students to really put themselves in the shoes of the notable men and women we are learning about in history. Students using The Walking Classroom are more engaged in discussion after the walks. Those who are not using the program ask what my classes are learning about. There is a definite excitement for learning on Walking Classroom days!

To help students choose a podcast on their own, I typed up a list of the podcasts, then had it made into a poster to hang on the wall by the devices. On advisory days, students can choose any podcast they want. The poster makes it easy for them to pick a podcast and take a walk. My middle school students LOVE these free walking days the most!
