Learning Becomes Exciting with TWC

08.19.20
posted by a Walking Classroom Adopter

I am a fourth grade teacher in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Last year, student learning became so much more engaging and exciting because of our incorporation of The Walking Classroom. Who knew walking, listening and learning could be so much fun?

My students decided to add a “Walking Wednesday” to our week, using our late start day. Starting our day with The Walking Classroom on Walking Wednesdays really helped get our minds back on track and ready for learning!

Every Wednesday we would meet at the carpet, discuss the podcast for that day, then start walking! When we returned to the classroom, we would follow up with a discussion and/or reflection. After that, we would take our quiz.

Thanks to the variety of podcasts, I successfully integrated The Walking Classroom themes and ideas into our main curriculum with 100% success. This has been the best learning tool with which we have been gifted, and we are so very grateful!
