Inspired by TWC Podcasts

My small group listened to The Walking Classroom podcast Riddles from The Hobbit (5-#22, Complete-#24) as they walked. This podcast inspired the students to create riddles of their own!

In fact, during our follow-up discussion, one of my students managed to create a riddle that none of us could figure out! The student asked, “What is always sparkling, but is not a star? What is metal and is not hard, but soft?” This stumped everyone! The answer? Aluminum foil!

It was very interesting to see not only how this group of students focused on the lesson as they walked, but also how it inspired creative thinking. The discussion for that podcast was out of this world!

The Walking Classroom engages students because it helps students learn in a different way: a way that they like — moving around!
