Discovering and Listening with TWC

11.21.18
posted by a Walking Classroom Adopter

On a warm morning in August, my students and I set out to walk the community in hopes of discovering and listening to podcasts on our new Walking Classroom devices. We were so excited!

We gathered at the entrance of the school and each received our Walking Classroom assignments. In class, we were studying about matter and atoms. It was fitting for us to listen to a podcast about John Dalton (4-#127, Combined-#159, STEM-#45). The podcast was very informative and kept my students engaged and interested.

As we walked, we encountered a neighborhood dog that startled us. It did not stop us from continuing on our journey though!

Before returning to our classroom, we sat outside in the courtyard and had a discussion about our lesson. Thanks to our donor for making this possible for our students.

I’m sure the dog brought about some anxiety for some students. So glad it did not prevent the class from walking, listening, and learning. Wishing you continued success with the program and many more happy trails.
