“Who’s on Third?” is a Hit!

02.24.22
posted by a Walking Classroom Adopter

I have been using The Walking Classroom since 2016, and every year is different! This year, my class’s favorite podcast was “Who’s on Third?”

My students had never heard this comedy sketch before and thought it was very funny. We had to listen to it over and over! With this particular podcast, because the speakers talk so quickly, we had to slow down the speech rate to get all the words! We listened to it four times, and they laughed every single time! Abbott and Costello have won a new audience, and my students have a new respect for homophones!

We typically start our lesson by reading through the questions on the quiz. This helps my students to focus while we listen to the podcast. We listen to the podcast on two different days before we take the quiz.

Last school year, we listened to the podcasts in our classroom while doing movement at our desks. It was not nearly as fun as walking downtown. I will be glad to get back to a regular and consistent walking schedule!
