The Walking Classroom: Pender Co. students try out a new style of learning

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) –
Fourth and fifth graders at Burgaw Elementary recently received new technology for a new style of learning. It is what they are calling the “Walking Classroom.”

The Walking Classroom allows the students to listen to one of over 100 podcasts on topics in science, social studies, and language arts.

The students go on “brisk 20-minute walks” as a class while listening to the podcasts on the “WalkKit.”
