Last year, we received our Walking Classroom devices the week before we had our winter break. After the break, we had such terrible weather, we thought we were never going to be able to use our devices outside. Finally though, once spring had sprung, we found ourselves using The Walking Classroom nonstop!
Our students LOVE The Walking Classroom! Our fifth grade class has used The Walking Classroom in larger groups, but we’ve also had the fourth grade lunch time History Club, as well as other lunch clubs I host in the Media Center, use the WalkKits. I have students who come in every day now and ask to use the devices!
Not only are our students getting more exercise, they’re delving into topics from the curriculum that often don’t get much time in class! I’ve had some of the most wonderful discussions with the students after they’ve listened to the podcasts. We would not have had these conversations if we didn’t have this wonderful tool for learning!
