Excitement Sparked in Students!

04.22.20
posted by a Walking Classroom Adopter

The Walking Classroom has really sparked excitement in many of my students, especially those who have a hard time concentrating and focusing when they are just sitting in the classroom. During class, my students get to walk and listen to educational podcasts that connect with topics that we are learning.

Some of their favorite podcasts so far have been Volcanoes (4-#76, STEM-#19, Complete-#138), Suns, Stars, and Galaxies (4-#78, STEM-#26, Complete-#144), Mountains (4-#77, STEM-#21, Complete-#136), and Similes and Metaphors (4-#11, 5-#72, Complete-#4). They have also enjoyed learning about famous people, such as Neil Armstrong (5-#82, Complete-#152). Using the podcasts helps give background knowledge of what we are learning as well as building upon what we have learned already.

Many of my students come from low income homes and do not have access to educational devices such as these podcasts. Several of my students are not allowed to play outside because of the dangerous neighborhoods that they live in. With The Walking Classroom, my students are outside enjoying nature and learning at the same time.

Thank you for making learning fun and bringing excitement to my students!
