Summer Storage

Happy <almost> Summer!!

As you prepare to begin your well-earned summer vacation, there are a few quick things you can do to keep your Walking Classroom materials in great shape when you return in August.

Summer Storage Suggestions:

1) Remove all batteries from the WalkKits.

The last thing you want to find in August is corroded batteries that leaked out while they were still inside the WalkKits. After returning from your last walk of the school year, simply ask your students to remove the batteries. This will save you some time and ensures you won’t come back to messy and damaged WalkKits next school year.

2) Store the WalkKits in a dry and cool environment.

This is just an easy step to take to make sure nothing happens to the devices while they are idle over the summer. Furthermore, storing the WalkKits in a safe place is also important. Many schools are used for summer programs and you certainly don’t want any WalkKits wandering off while you’re gone.

3) Keep us in the loop.

This last one isn’t necessarily WalkKit related, but is still very important! We understand that a change in school, position, and/or grade level is extremely common. If you find yourself transitioning to a different location or placement for the next school year, please take a moment to let us know. This helps us keep our records up-to-date so we know where Walking Classroom materials are being used around the country and allows us to continue supporting you in your implementation!

Ooh, this is extremely helpful! I’m not sure I would remember to do this had you not posted this. Thank you!
