Students Walk, Listen, and Love TWC!

12.27.17
posted by a Walking Classroom Adopter

My students have walked with The Walking Classroom since the first week of school. We LOVE it!!

I’ve used The Walking Classroom to add to our reading curriculum. We just got done reading The House Without a Christmas Tree, and we used The Walking Classroom to learn more about the era. We listened to the podcasts on Great Depression (5-#87) and the Dust Bowl (5-#88). Both of these events happened around the time of the book’s setting.

During Native American History month, we listened to many of the podcasts dealing with Native Americans. The Trail of Tears (5-#40) was one of our favorites. Right now, we are reading and writing tons of poetry. We have Alliteration and Personification (5-#67) planned for tomorrow!

We’ve also used the quiz questions as ways to practice test preparation skills. What a great way for us to get a little extra learning in while exercising!
