Today’s Walking Classroom podcast talks about women and girls during the Middle Ages. Society during the Middle Ages was mainly structured according to a feudal system, where royalty was at the top, noble people were in the middle, and many, many peasants were at the bottom of the pyramid. A girl’s family’s wealth often determined the level of education she would get and the options she had for marriage. While the men of the Middle Ages were often off fighting in battles, women had to stay home to run the farms and castles.
