Today’s Walking Classroom tries to describe how horrible life was as a slave and some significant slave rebellions and uprisings, like Nat Turner’s Rebellion and the Amistad Mutiny. An estimated 15 million Africans were forced into slavery in America, and following their arrival, slaves were made to endure cruel living and working conditions filled with brutality and injustice. Many slaves chose to run away or rebel against their masters instead of continuing to live in captivity.
