Today’s Walking Classroom podcast discusses mountains. Mountains are landforms that rise well above the surrounding land for a limited area, usually in the form of a peak. Mountains are steeper, larger, and taller than hills and their formation is usually caused by volcanic activity or the movement of tectonic plates. Mountains provide evidence about movements of the planet’s surface.
