Today’s Walking Classroom podcast discusses the Knights of the Middle Ages and the various paths a boy could take to become a knight. A knight pledged his loyalty to the local lord or nobleperson, and once he proved himself in battle, or around his 21st birthday, he was “knighted” in an elaborate ceremony. Knights behaved both in and out of battle according to specific rules and customs called the Code of Chivalry.
