Today’s Walking Classroom podcast focuses on the famous Italian explorer, Christopher Columbus. Columbus dreamed of finding a direct sea route from Europe to Asia. The King and Queen of Spain funded his voyage in 1492 in the hopes of acquiring riches and of spreading their religious views. He sailed west from Spain and ended up landing in the Americas where he named the native people Indians, thinking he had reached the Indies.
