This Walking Classroom podcast focuses on alliteration and personification. Alliteration is the use of the same sound to begin two or more words that are close together in a sentence, title, or name. Personification is when writers apply human characteristics to things that are not human. “The smiling sun” is an example of both alliteration and personification.
