(And be entered for a Chance to Win a Walking Classroom Set)

Our friends at Tufts University in Boston have just launched a new campaign for America’s schools – the Billion Mile Race. They’re challenging schools to walk, jog, and run one billion miles through participation in school-based programs like The Walking Classroom.

Any and all miles achieved at school count whether your kids are on the move with The Walking Classroom, as part of walk-to-school, or at an annual event like a 5K or walk-a-thon. Over 1,200 schools across the country are already tracking their miles and contributing to the ambitious goal.

How to Enter the Billion Mile Race (and be entered to win a Walking Classroom set)

When your school enrolls in the Race (it’s free and takes only 5 minutes), you’ll be entered for a chance to win a class set of Walking Classroom materials ($3000 value!). Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Register your school in the Billion Mile Race at http://www.billionmilerace.org/register by October 15th, 2015
  2. In the registration form select ‘Other’ for the question ‘How Did You Hear About The Billion Mile Race’, and write in: TWCGIVEAWAY
  3. Post miles at least once weekly between October 15th – November 15th

The week of November 16th we’ll announce the winner of a classroom set of WalkKits.

More About The Billion Mile Race:

The New Balance Foundation Billion Mile Race is challenging America’s schools to collectively run, jog, and walk one billion miles. Yep, that’s ‘billion’ with a ‘b’. Why? Because we know walking and running at school can have a powerful impact not only on kids’ activity levels, but also on a range of outcomes related to health, emotional well-being, and academic performance. Thousands of schools across the country have realized these benefits and we want thousands more to experience the same.
