A couple of years ago, I heard about The Walking Classroom. I thought this would be a great resource to use in my classroom! Being a physical education teacher, I knew that the program would not be difficult to incorporate into my lessons.
I received my class set of Walking Classroom materials during my baseball unit on a day that I had to have classroom PE. While going through the materials, I came across the perfect podcast . . . Take Me out to the Ballgame (5-#6). I presented this podcast to my students, and we prepared to walk, listen, and learn!
My students walked the hallways while listening and singing along to the different versions of the song. During the follow-up class discussion to recap the important points, they definitely demonstrated enthusiasm!
Other teachers who have observed my classes using this fantastic resource have inquired about The Walking Classroom. They are excited about it too!
