Grateful for The Amazing Opportunity!

02.13.19
posted by a Walking Classroom Adopter

We are so grateful that we get to interact with this amazing opportunity every week! It’s incredible how The Walking Classroom’s podcasts match up exactly with what I am teaching.

We did a unit on poetry that I was really nervous for since it is often very difficult for students to understand. Not only did the podcasts help my students comprehend the poetic material, it made them so excited to learn even more about the poems and their authors.

We are a Title I school. Many of our students don’t have a lot of opportunity to be exposed to the world outside their small community. We often lack the materials to fill in that background knowledge they so desperately need. The Walking Classroom is like getting to go on a field trip every week. The students love getting fresh air while also learning something new.

Many of our students are also English Language Learners, and The Walking Classroom really helps them with their oral language and comprehension skills. This program is exactly what we needed here!
