Getting Students Moving throughout the School

07.05.23
posted by a Walking Classroom Adopter

The Walking Classroom has been a HUGE success at our school. Our school is always striving to be a healthier school. Our students get recess every day and physical education once or twice a week however, more movement throughout the day is so beneficial for a student’s learning.

When I found out about The Walking Classroom, I knew it was something I wanted to implement in our school. After looking over the podcast list, how easy it is to use the audio player and the wonderful teacher materials and resources for The Walking Classroom, I thought it would best fit our upper elementary classes.

I love how easy it is for teachers to use this as a brain break for their students, add it onto their everyday routine, or use it as they see fits best for their class. After we received our materials, our fifth grade class has been the first to use them. They have enjoyed listening to the podcast while getting movement in.

We are so thankful for The Walking Classroom because now that the weather is getting cold, our classroom teachers can still get their students moving throughout the school WHILE learning! Thanks to The Walking Classroom, our students are getting EXTRA movement throughout the school day!
