It has been so neat to see how I have been able to work The Walking Classroom’s lessons into my school day. At first it was hard for me to see how I was going to be able to incorporate many of the biographies. However, after we studied summaries and listened to Summary Writing (4-#34), I found that the biographies were a perfect way to practice our summary writing!
The biographies have plenty of cross-curricular possibilities too! All of the biographies we have listened to so far have tied into major United States’ historical events, or they can be integrated into some larger-scale STEM topic.
The students ask so many questions during our pre-lesson and after our walk. I could practically create an entire new unit for each lesson!
