Students consistently ask to walk and learn with TWC

posted by a Walking Classroom Adopter

I am a teacher at Sugarloaf Elementary in Hendersonville, NC and was very fortunate to receive a class set of WalkKits!

My students love the times we walk and even with the bad weather we have had in our area, consistently ask to walk and learn anyway. We go outside when the weather cooperates but on bad weather days we walk in the school.

My students are engaged and love being able to participate in such an amazing program!

I could not agree more! My students are always trying to find a reason to incorporate The Walking Classroom into our everyday schedule. We do it regularly twice ever week, but whenever we bring up a topic that is on the back of their kit they are always excited and say “can we listen to this topic today?” We love it and love the combo of learning with much needed exercise time (especially in the winter) 🙂

I think it’s great that your students can walk around the school when the weather isn’t cooperating. We’ve had an unusual amount of rain in California and it’s been nice to get out and walk in the sunshine!

We are ready for better weather here! My students are asking and we don’t have an indoor spot to walk….I am still working on that. They have missed it when we don’t get to walk as often….but the time is coming for us to walk again!

I’m so happy to see so many other students enjoy the Walking Classroom as much as mine do! Even the reluctant walkers that I had at the beginning of the school year are eager to get out and walk every day! We all miss it when we aren’t able to walk. It has been an amazing addition to my classroom schedule this year!

I agree and my students are asking to walk, too! I teach 4th grade in Greenville, SC. My students get so excited as soon as they see me pull the walkits out. They absolutely love it, and it has been so cool to hear the meaningful discussions they have as soon as we get back into the classroom after our walk.

I agree too! 🙂 I teach fifth grade in Austin, Texas and the students ask “Are we walking today?” I have started wearing my walkit to the cafeteria so they don’t have to ask. 🙂 I love our walking time. It is peaceful and meaningful.

Agree completely!!! I am a fifth grade teacher in Carrollton, Kentucky, and I hear almost daily “Are we walking today?” My students greatly enjoy their time with the walkits. As with every school year, our schedules have changed many times, but the kids are always only interested in one thing… Walking Classroom time!! 🙂
