Walk Indoors Works Well Too!

12.20.17
posted by a Walking Classroom Adopter

It was a little chilly last week! Many of my students hadn’t dressed for the cold, so we decided to do our walk indoors, as we’d practiced on rainy days. My class, who usually needs many reminders about hall behavior, was silent.

After our second lap, when I was sure my leader knew the route and the pace, I quietly left the line to stop at the faculty restroom. I figured that a staff member would quickly let me know if the kids were causing trouble in the hall. When the kids came back down the hall, I stepped back into line — I don’t think anyone realized I was gone!

A sub stopped me, asking what music the kids were so into. I laughed, and told her they were learning about idioms. I am not sure she believed me!

Thank you for creating such an engaging, educational program and sharing it with my class!
