Variety of Podcast Topics

posted by a Walking Classroom Adopter

In our gifted and talented classroom, we see a different grade each day of the week. The Walking Classroom is one my favorite tools because of the variety of podcast topics. I can incorporate TWC for each grade based on different age/curriculum appropriate lessons.

We start almost every class with a walk on our nature trail to get our minds focused on our current topic and ready to learn. We use the devices so often that we implemented a hanging storage near the back door of the classroom. This allows for quick access, and the students have come to know the routine. Within minutes, they are outfitted with The Walking Classroom devices and headphones and we are out the door!

Sometimes we even get requests from the students about topics they want to explore. Every now and again, we will even repeat a previous podcast for deeper understanding or due to overwhelming request. The students are always excited to get outside and get moving.

We enjoy the health messages and incorporate them into our post-walk discussions. We are especially interested in the history and science topics. While finding each of the lessons insightful, we appreciate the student guides and the humor sprinkled throughout.

Learning should be fun! Thank you to The Walking Classroom for helping kids love to learn.
