Excitement and Enthusiasm Abound with TWC!

04.03.19
posted by a Walking Classroom Adopter

What a pleasure it has been to implement The Walking Classroom with the fourth and fifth grade students at our school this year! Students have thoroughly enjoyed walking while learning, and I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing their excitement and enthusiasm when it is time to walk and learn!

My students absolutely love The Walking Classroom. They always let me know when it’s that time of the day in our schedule. We all look forward to our Walking Classroom time, where we get that much needed “out of your seat and on your feet” refreshing break.

And that’s just how my students view it! They feel like they are getting a bonus recess activity. When looking at it from the teacher perspective though, I know they are moving and learning simultaneously without even realizing it!

I have incorporated The Walking Classroom podcasts into my curriculum for a seamless learning experience all around. With careful planning, I match the content to coordinate with my curriculum map, holidays, and other special events and observances. I also make use of the variety of resources available through The Walking Classroom’s website. This way, my students get information in a systematic way that maximizes their learning experience.

The Walking Classroom gives our students, who are from mostly low socio-economic backgrounds, an opportunity to learn and exercise. This is something to which no price tag can compare. Thanks so much!

    Hi Susan,

We just implemented TWC also. I completely agree! The students love it. Exercise is so important for learning and development. That is why TWC is so great.
