Over-the-Moon Excited to Have TWC!

01.31.18
posted by a Walking Classroom Adopter

When I received an email at the beginning of this school year letting me know that my classroom had been chosen to receive donated Walking Classroom materials, I was over-the-moon excited! Little did I know the excitement that this program would bring into my classroom and how it would encourage my struggling readers!

We typically listen to podcasts multiple times per week, but especially on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It didn’t take long for students to figure out that schedule. They quickly began to ask for The Walking Classroom on those days and make sure when coming into class that we would be listening to a podcast that day!

As a teacher, it is inspiring to see students engaged and excited about learning! Not only do I love the discussion that The Walking Classroom has brought into my classroom, I also love how even my ESL and struggling students are getting involved and finding their voice! TWC has truly inspired my students and that makes this teacher’s heart so very happy.

The topics that we have covered so far have been engaging. Students are making connections across the curriculum to podcasts that we have listened to, as well as to other topics that we are studying in class. I am so thankful for the opportunity to bring this amazing program into my classroom for my 4th graders!
