With spring around the bend, things are getting busy here at The Walking Classroom! We’re preparing for a number of upcoming education and out-of-school time conferences. Here’s where you can meet us in March and April!

On the Road from March . . .

National Youth Advocacy and Resilience (NYAR) Conference
March 6 – 9

In early March, The Walking Classroom will exhibit and present at the National Youth Advocacy and Resilience Conference, held in Savannah, Georgia. The NYAR Conference supports those interested in the well-being of youth. Attendees include teachers, school administrators, school counselors, and more. If you’re there, stop by The Walking Classroom’s booth and say hello!

Besides several keynotes, the conference also features over 40 presenters over nine breakout sessions. These cover one of five theme areas: Head, Heart, Hands, Health, and Home. Be sure to catch our presentation at 2:45 p.m. on Monday, March 7!

North Carolina Middle Level Educators (NCMLE) Conference
March 13 – 15

The theme of the 2022 North Carolina Middle Level Educators Conference is Convene, Connect, Create: Bridging Middle School Excellence Across the State. Sponsored by the North Carolina Association of Middle Level Educators, it is recognized as one of the nation’s premier conferences for those working with early adolescents in grades five through eight.

It typically draws over 1,000 educators from North Carolina and around the country and includes an array of sessions. This year, the conference will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Want to learn more about The Walking Classroom? Be sure to attend our presentation at 10:10 a.m. on Monday, March 14!

California Charter Schools Conference
March 14 – 17

The same week, The Walking Classroom will exhibit at the California Charter Schools Conference in Long Beach, California. This event is sponsored by the California Charter Schools Association (CCSA). It is attended by more than 600 California-based charter school leaders, teachers, board members, business managers, and others.

If you’re there, be sure to stop by The Walking Classroom’s booth (#1024) and say hello!

. . . through April!

North Carolina Center for Afterschool Programs (NC CAP) SYNERGY Conference
April 19 – 22

In April, The Walking Classroom will exhibit at the SYNERGY Conference. This hybrid event will occur virtually AND in-person in Greensboro, North Carolina. It is sponsored by the North Carolina Center for Afterschool Programs (NC CAP). NC CAP works to improve access to high quality afterschool and expanded learning programs for those at risk of education failure.

SYNERGY is attended by more than 400 North Carolina out-of-school time professionals. This year’s conference theme, “Forward”, is reflected in an array of workshops and presentations. Workshop strands include Arts & Literacy, Closing Gaps, College & Career Readiness, Organizational Capacity, Public/Private Partnerships, Social-Emotional Learning, STEM, and Youth Development.

Best Out-of-School Time (BOOST) Conference
April 27 – 28

Later in April, The Walking Classroom heads to Palm Springs, California to exhibit at the BOOST Conference! The largest global convening for afterschool, expanded learning, and out-of-school time professionals, the event has a projected attendance of over 2,500.

The conference provides opportunities for networking and team building. It includes special events, more than 150 workshops, and hands-on learning too!

And . . . More Opportunities on the Way!
