Incorporating TWC: Our First Day!

10.11.17
posted by a Walking Classroom Adopter

Today my class and I experienced our first day of incorporating The Walking Classroom. We have all been very excited to get started with the program!

We began with the introductory lessons. This gave the students time to get used to working with the WalkKits. By the end of our first walk, my students decided that they wanted to do The Walking Classroom every day! I let them know that I have a goal of two to three times per week.

As we walked, I used a fitness tracker to track our mileage. When we finished, I informed the students that we had walked nearly two miles. They could not believe it! I heard responses like: “It didn’t seem that far!” and “That went by so fast!”

Later, in the classroom during our follow-up discussion of the podcast, the students’ answers were right on target. They definitely understood what they had heard. We are all looking forward to our next walk!
