Incorporate TWC . . . It Works!

posted by a Walking Classroom Adopter

Transitioning to a new role last year and teaching a new special entitled “Enrichment,” I was anxious to see how I could incorporate this program into my classroom. The answer: it works seamlessly! The Walking Classroom has truly enhanced my students’ learning, engagement, and curiosity.

There are a wide variety of podcasts spanning both fourth and fifth grade curriculums. The topics are also aligned to the North Carolina Essential Standards. From listening to podcasts about the American Revolution in fifth grade to animal classification in fourth grade, there are endless opportunities to spark learning and deep conversation on a variety of subjects.

I especially love how these topics relate to the standards covered in these grades. Because of this, so I can easily support classroom teachers while simultaneously engaging the minds of students in enrichment activities.

The Walking Classroom is great for both teachers and students. The benefits of students being able to get up and move around as they listen and learn are very clear. Many teachers have told me they see a remarkable difference in their students on the days we use The Walking Classroom. Several teachers have even approached me to ask about how they can incorporate the program into their own classrooms!

The Walking Classroom has been a true blessing for my students! The smiles of anticipation on their faces as they enter my classroom have confirmed my initial hopes for what this program would look like at our school.

Thank you for providing such a valuable resource to my school. I cannot wait to see where The Walking Classroom takes me and my students next!

Happy Trails!
