From Frustrating to Fun Thanks to TWC

The 2020 – 2021 school year was sure a crazy, long year! Teaching remotely via Zoom proved really tough. Students were often “present,” but not REALLY present. Their cameras were off and there was no response. It made things very frustrating for all of us.

When we finally returned to hybrid, more than half of my class came back to school in-person (19 kids!). Being able to utilize The Walking Classroom was a blessing! We walked the perimeter of the playground, making sure to be socially distanced — easy to do with The Walking Classroom!

The kids were so engaged! They didn’t have to listen to me, and they didn’t have to worry about technical glitches. Best of all, they didn’t have to look at a screen. They were so happy to be outside, getting exercise and fresh air with their peers. The Walking Classroom quickly became the best part of the day!

My students especially enjoyed “Casey at the Bat” (5-#5, Complete-#29) and “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” (5-#6, Complete-#30). I was finally able to engage them in dialogue and teach concepts at the same time. And, I was also able to use the health lesson component to give health grades!

The Google Form Quizzes were easy to assign, and I loved incorporating all the extra meaningful and engaging resources The Walking Classroom provides (for free!)! This program saved the day!
