Developing Deeper Understanding

05.31.23
posted by a Walking Classroom Adopter

We are huge fans of The Walking Classroom. As educators, we are always looking for ways to help students develop deeper understanding of our curriculum! We also constantly seek new ways to engage the students. One of our main philosophies is that students should love to learn, and it is our responsibility to make that happen.

The Walking Classroom has provided the opportunity for our gifted and talented students to delve further into lessons, generate some amazing questions and participate in extensive discussion. Now, we have incorporated the program into our regular lesson plans. We have even begun getting requests for specific topics and podcasts from our students.

The students absolutely love getting outdoors and moving while learning. Our nature trail here at school is the perfect setting for listening to the podcasts. The students are engaged by the interesting and varying podcast topics, and they thoroughly enjoy that most lessons have students as teachers. They feel like they are listening in to an actual conversation!

Many teachers and classmates approach us after our walks to inquire about this amazing learning tool. We cannot stop ourselves from spreading the word here on campus.

We appreciate that the program includes a physical and mental health component, while contributing to a deeper love of learning! Thank you for your passion and ambition to help educators and students.
