It may be winter, but we’re not hibernating here at The Walking Classroom! In fact, we’re busy preparing for a number of upcoming education and out-of-school time conferences. Here’s where you’ll find us in February!
From School Conferences . . .
National ESEA Conference
February 16 – 18
In mid-February, The Walking Classroom will be exhibiting and presenting at the National ESEA Conference. This hybrid event, held in New Orleans, Louisiana, and online, is the largest conference for federal education programs. If you’re there in person, be sure to stop by The Walking Classroom’s booth (#614) and say hello!
Formerly the National Title I Association, The National Association of Elementary and Secondary Act (ESEA) State Programs has not only changed its name. In addition, it has shifted its focus, as it is working to address the needs of those supported by all the programs funded by the ESEA.
Besides several keynote presentations, the conference also features over 130 sessions. These cover one of three themes: Instruction, Leadership, or Policy. Be sure to catch our presentation; it’s at 11 am on February 17!
Georgia Association for Gifted Children
February 28 – March 1
Then, you can see The Walking Classroom in Athens, Georgia, at the Georgia Association for Gifted Children (GAGC) Annual Convention. The GAGC is an affiliate for the National Association for Gifted Children, and this event is the largest professional development opportunity for those working with Georgia’s gifted and talented youth.
The theme of this year’s convention, a combination virtual and face-to-face event is Navigating the Gifted Journey: Chart Your Course, and has an array of workshops and presentations supporting that theme. Be sure to visit our booth, and to experience The Walking Classroom in action, just look for our presentation! If you attend, you can walk, listen, and learn with The Walking Classroom too!
